Ironwood Manufactured Homes Expanding Modular Capabilities Across Canada and the U.S.

ronwood Manufactured Homes is quietly becoming a respected presence in the modular housing space across Canada and parts of the northeastern United States. Established in 2018, the company was formed from the assets of a previous modular builder founded in 1996—bringing decades of industry experience under one roof, while forging a new brand identity with a forward-looking approach.
A New Facility Designed for Growth
Ironwood’s latest milestone is the development of a 117,000-square-foot, purpose-built modular factory, scheduled to open this fall. This new facility will significantly expand the company's production capabilities while integrating state-of-the-art equipment such as CNC saws, wall and floor framing machinery, and in-house truss fabrication. Once operational, the factory will also be open for guided tours and open house events, welcoming the public and industry professionals alike.
The expanded facility will allow Ironwood to enter new markets—including larger multi-residential builds—without sacrificing the quality they’ve become known for. The plant will also streamline their ability to offer full structural packages, including wall panels and trusses, for projects delivered throughout Atlantic Canada, Maine, and New Hampshire.
Serving Both Canada and the Northeastern U.S.
Ironwood currently serves Atlantic Canada, Maine, and New Hampshire, with strategic plans to expand further into Ontario and Western Canada. The company operates both through a direct-to-consumer model within a 60-mile radius of the factory and through a network of established retailers beyond that region.
While they do not typically provide land-home packages, Ironwood offers turnkey solutions once land is acquired—managing design, build, delivery, and installation for homeowners and developers alike.
Commitment to Customization and Efficiency
Ironwood is best known for its custom home capabilities, frequently working with clients to adapt designs based on site needs, lifestyle, and aesthetics. Their catalog includes options like the Carlton chalet-style model and the Vista atrium-style mini home, both of which offer expansive windows, open spaces, and modern layouts.
Energy performance is a priority as well. Ironwood homes are ENERGY STAR® certified and are built to meet or exceed Canadian building codes. Standard offerings include high R-value insulation packages and upgraded window glass that performs well in blower door tests—demonstrating the company's emphasis on airtightness and thermal efficiency.
Educating the Market and Building Trust
Like many modular builders, Ironwood continues to address lingering misconceptions about modular construction. Whether through in-person tours or side-by-side comparisons with traditional site-built homes, the company emphasizes that its modular units meet the same—or higher—construction standards.
Modular homes, they note, must be engineered to withstand long-distance transport and strict certification standards, offering durability and strength that rival or surpass conventional builds.
“We’re not new to the industry—but we are building something new,” shared company leadership. “With the experience on our team and the investment in our facility, we’re focused on raising brand awareness and showing what modular housing can truly deliver.”
